With the approaching of the Mid-Autumn Festival, the inspection and quarantine department discovered that moon cakes from Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan have entered the country by courier. Due to the increase in the number of people going abroad, Chinese people have spread all over the world. In previous years, moon cakes were shipped from abroad to the country. This year, foreign Chinese also hope to send some local mooncakes to domestic relatives and friends for tasting. However, consumers need to be reminded that not all moon cakes can enter the country smoothly. China has strict regulations on foods containing animal-derived ingredients such as meat or egg yolks, and prohibits the import of animal-derived foods from animal epidemic-prone countries or regions. Egg yolk mooncakes from bird flu countries are prohibited from entering the country. Even mooncakes from countries that are not endemic to animal diseases, if they contain animals of animal origin such as meat or egg yolk, need to provide the official quarantine certificate of the exporting country.

The inspection and quarantine department reminds consumers that prior to the delivery of moon cakes, they must first understand the regulations of the prohibition orders of all countries. Regardless of sending or receiving, they should abide by the regulations of various countries and prevent the mailed moon cakes from being returned or destroyed, causing unnecessary losses.
