1. Safe storage of feed ingredients
(1) Storage of Animal Protein Feeds
Animal protein feed such as cocoon, meat and bone meal, fish meal, bone meal and other small amount, generally can be stored in plastic bags. In order to prevent heat and mildew from getting wet, seal it in a plastic bag and place it in a dry and ventilated place. During the preservation period, it must be carefully checked and the phenomenon of fever should be discovered early and dealt with early to avoid undue losses.
(2) Storage of cake-type feed
Cakes and meals include rapeseed cakes, peanut cakes, and cakes. The cakes are rich in protein, fat, and other nutrients. The surface layer has no natural protective layer, so it is susceptible to mildew and poor storage. When a large amount of cake-like feed is stored, it is generally stored by a stacking method. When stacking, flatten the ground first, and apply a layer of linoleum, or pad it with 20 cm thick dry sand to prevent moisture. The pancakes should be stacked into a wind-blown wall type. Each cake is separated by 20 cm. The second layer is offset by a dipper. The stacking method is then stacked according to the method laid on the first floor. The stacking number is generally not more than 20 layers. The moisture content of the freshly-cooked cake is higher than 5%. When stacking, stack 1 layer of oil cake and pour 1 layer of spacers such as dry sorghum stalk or dry straw, etc., or add 1 layer of spacers every 1 layer to ventilate and dry it. ,Disperse wet, absorb moisture. 2. Safe storage of compound feed
(1) Control of storage moisture and humidity in compound feed
Water content in formulated feeds is generally required to be below 12%. If the moisture is controlled below 10%, no microorganisms can grow. The moisture content of compound feed is more than 12%, or the humidity in the air is high. The compound feed must be kept dry during storage. The packaging should use double bags, airtight plastic bags and external textile bags. Note that the storage environment, especially the warehouse, should always be ventilated and dry.
(2) Control of storage temperature of compound feed
When the temperature is lower than 10°C, mold growth is slow, and if it is higher than 30°C, it will grow rapidly, and the feed quality will deteriorate rapidly. Unsaturated fatty acids in the feed are easily oxidized under high temperature and high humidity conditions. Therefore, formulated feed should be stored in a low-temperature and ventilated place. Treasury should have heat-resistance performance, prevent solar heat from radiating in, warehouse top should be brushed with heat insulation layer; walls painted white to reduce heat absorption. Trees can be shaded around the warehouse to improve the external environment, regulate the indoor microclimate, and ensure safe storage.
(3) Prevention of pests and rodents in compound feed storage
The main factors affecting the reproduction of pests during storage are temperature, relative humidity and feed water content. The optimum growth temperature for general pests of stored grain is 26°C to 27°C and the relative humidity is 10% to 50%. In general, moths feed on the surface of the feed, while the beetles are full-fledged. In order to avoid pests and rodents, before the storage of feedstuffs, the inside walls, cracks and dead ends of the warehouse should be completely removed to plug the corner holes, and seal fumigation treatment should be carried out so as to effectively prevent and control pests and rodents, thus minimizing the losses caused.
3. Safe storage of different types of compound feed
(1) Storage of full-priced pellet feed
The full-price pellet feed is made by squeezing with steam or adding water. A large number of harmful microorganisms and pests are killed. The gap is large and the water content is low. The gelatinized starch encloses the vitamins, so the storage performance is better as long as it is moisture-proof and ventilated. , Dark storage, no mildew in the short term, less damage to vitamins. However, the disadvantage of the full-price powdered feed is that it has a large surface area, a small porosity, poor thermal conductivity, and easy to return moisture. Fats and vitamins are exposed to air and are easily oxidized and damaged by light. Therefore, it should be noted that the storage period cannot be too long.
(2) Storage of concentrated feed
Concentrated feeds are rich in protein, containing trace elements and vitamins. They have poor thermal conductivity and are prone to moisture absorption. Microorganisms and pests are prone to breeding. Vitamins are also easily destroyed by light, heat, oxygen and other factors. Anti-mould agents and antioxidants should be added to the concentrate to increase the storage stability. General storage of 3 to 4 weeks, it is necessary to sell in time or use during the safety period.
