Configuration requirements for third-stage filter of pure water machine

The standard pure water machine is now in a five-stage configuration: 5μm PP cotton - granular activated carbon - 1μm PP cotton - RO membrane - post-activated carbon. There are also some manufacturers whose third-level configuration is changed to block-shaped compressed activated carbon or sintered activated carbon CTO. Is the third-stage filter element suitable for 1μm PP cotton or block-like compressed activated carbon?

As we all know, the first three stages of filtration are for the RO membrane. As the pretreatment of raw water, it is designed to increase the service life of the RO membrane. Then the front filter element of the RO membrane is better than 1μm PP cotton.

There are three reasons:

First, it can effectively prevent the activated carbon powder from entering the inside of the RO membrane, and protect the RO membrane to minimize the entry of the activated carbon powder and prolong its service life. Because we cleaned the filter before installing the activated carbon filter, there will be carbon powder outflow. Install a 1μm filter before the RO membrane to act as a barrier, greatly reducing the possibility of artificial contamination of the RO membrane.

Second, the filtration precision of 1μm PP cotton is 1 micron. The harmful substances such as bacteria, sediment particles and water rust can be removed as much as possible. When the first 5μm filter element is lost, it can still protect the RO membrane and reduce the RO membrane. The probability of being contaminated.

Third, if the third stage is block compressed activated carbon or sintered activated carbon CTO, there are three filters in the five-stage filtration are activated carbon, and the activated carbon filter is reused, not only wastes resources, but also increases the cost, and loses its due role.

There is also a second grade of granular activated carbon, which needs to be rinsed during installation, often causing a lot of black water, and it is easy to flush. If the problem of compressing activated carbon black water is solved, it will not solve the burden of the third-stage PP cotton.
