The main characteristics of the variety: First, strong drought resistance and wide adaptability. Qinghai No. 10 cultivar has strong drought resistance, and the drought resistance coefficient is 70.6-80.4%, which is higher than the drought resistance coefficient of horse teeth 57.8-65.4%. Cold-resistant, high resistance to faba bean rust, red spot disease, and a wide range of adaptation, can be planted in China's spring broad bean district and part of the autumn beans, in our province suitable for altitude 2200-2700 meters of dry land cultivation. The second is high yield and significant increase in income. Qinghai No. 10 is high in yield and stable in yield. Generally, it produces 250-320 kilograms per mu in dry hills, which is 23.8-108.3% more than the control variety, Machia, 50-150 kilograms per mu, and 80-210 yuan per mu. The third is a large grain, full, high quality and good commercial property. The dryland variety of our province is medium and small grain variety. Qinghai No. 10 is a large grain variety with 100 grain weight of 165-171 grams. The 100 grain weight is 40-60 grams higher than general dryland variety; the grain is full, with good color and good commercial property; The dry grain crude protein content was 27.5%, the starch was 49.6%, and the crude fat was 1.53%.

After the certification of this variety, the broad bean production area in our province was demonstrated and promoted, and the planting area was rapidly expanded. From 2002 to 2004, the cumulative planting area reached 348,000 mu, which has become the main planted variety in the mountain dry land in our province, and the planting area accounts for the cultivation of broad beans. About 80% of the area. At the same time, Qinghai No. 10 has also been introduced into Gansu, Tibet, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, and Zhejiang provinces. The area is expanding year by year.
