Institute of Physiology and Chemistry, Hebei Academy of Sciences, Institute of Physiology, Plant Research Center successfully developed the "Five-year Winter Wheat Rapid Breeding Technology", on May 17 passed the appraisal of three academicians and four experts of the expert group, so that China's biotechnology breeding obtained Major breakthroughs have been made, and the time for breeding new varieties has been reduced from the past 8 to 10 years to 2 years. In order to solve the two key issues of long wheat breeding and seed selection cycle and poor genetic resource utilization capacity, Hebei Province began to use biotechnology to conduct research on the rapid winter wheat breeding technology in 1996, and included this issue in the Provincial Ph.D. funding project. After five years of unremitting efforts, researchers have finally established a five-year rapid breeding technology system for winter wheat, and applied this technology system to develop three new strains of powdery mildew resistance. Experts believe that this result replaces seed propagation with the direct seedling technology of immature embryo culture. Based on the study of requirements for vernalization of different varieties, an indicator of the vernalization of immature embryos is proposed and the vernalization time is shortened. On the basis of plant nutrients, hormones and management research, comprehensive application of hormone treatment, fertilizer and water transfer technology, etc., shortened the seedling stage, and the application of the integrated technical system of the results will shorten the period of wheat growth to 68 to 70 days, and improve agricultural production. It is of great significance to promote the upgrading of crop varieties and industrialization of high-tech seeds. Experts believe that this achievement has reached the international advanced level.
