Why should I replace the UV lamp of pure water equipment in time?

In pure water equipment, the use of UV lamps has two functions: 1. Sterilization; 254 nm wavelength, 2, decomposition of organic matter; 185 nm wavelength.

The efficiency of the use of UV lamps depends on two factors: the wavelength of the UV lamp and the power of the UV lamp. Experiments have shown that microbes will be killed or greatly inhibited by irradiation with 254 nm ultraviolet light per square centimeter of power exceeding 0.6 mW. If the two are missing, the sterilization effect will be greatly reduced. Therefore, the UV lamp used in pure water or ultrapure water equipment must be accurately calculated for its power, illumination area and flow rate.

During the use of the UV lamp, the power will gradually decrease and the wavelength will drift. The principle of the illumination of the UV lamp is similar to that of the fluorescent lamp. We all know that the fluorescent tube with long time is blackened at both ends, the light is dimmed, the light is flickering, etc., the same happens to the UV lamp, and its sterilization or decomposition function. It will decrease or disappear.

The service life of the UV lamp is generally calculated in hours. Usually, an ultraviolet lamp can be used for xx hours, which means that the efficiency of the UV lamp is reduced within 70% within a specified time. Above this value, the UV lamp needs to be replaced.

According to the actual experience, generally, when the UV lamp of the water purifier or ultrapure water is used for more than 1000 hours (about 1 year), it should be considered to replace the new UV lamp.
