Reasons and Prevention of "Eating Tires" for Tractors

Large tire wear on both sides of the tractor is inconsistent, even if the side wear quickly, that is, "eat the tire" phenomenon. The reason is as follows:

First, the tractor long-term overload operation

Tyres are overloaded and slip rates increase, accelerating tire wear. If the tire pressures on the two sides are different and there is a large difference between them, the wear of tires with low air pressure will increase and the tires will be severe.

Control methods: tire pressure should meet the regulations, summer air pressure is slightly lower, generally take the lower limit of the specified value. If the tire pressure is too high, the ply will be excessively stretched to cause excessive fatigue or breakage; the tire pressure is too low, and the ply is excessively wrinkled and deformed, which can easily cause the rubber layer to separate from the ply and accelerate the aging and wear of the rubber layer. Therefore, do not overload the tractor for a long period of time to reduce tire slip wear.

Second, the tractor dragging trailer traction tripod

It has been determined that when the trailer tripod is inequality equal to 60 mm, a large tire on one side of the short-shoulder will shorten the service life of 1/2, and the trailer tire on this side will also increase wear.

Control method: Measure the distance from the center point of the tripod pin hole of the tripod to the center of the two front wheels of the trailer. These two distances should be equal. If not, identify and eliminate the cause. If necessary, recreate an isosceles tripod.

Third, the tractor left and right on both sides of the wheelbase

The wheelbase of the front and rear wheels varies from one side to the other, except for the front wheel on the short wheelbase side, which causes wear of the other three tires.

Control methods: Check the wheelbase of the front and rear wheels on both sides, align the front wheels and compare the two shortest distances on the outer edges of the front and rear wheels. If the wheelbase is not equal, you should find out the reason. Under normal circumstances, due to the bending deformation of the steering knuckle bracket, knuckle shaft, front axle, or large axle, it is possible to remove the correction or replace the new one to restore the same wheelbase on both sides of the front and rear wheels.

Fourth, the unit resonance acceleration, large tires wear.

If the above three items are normal, but the large tire on the right has a septal malformation wear, that is, for the unit resonance. The operator can change the throttle position to avoid placing the throttle on the speed that can cause the unit to resonate. The “tipping” phenomenon of large tires can disappear.
