Spawning and Hatching of Brazilian Tortoises

The Brazilian tortoise, also known as the colorful turtle, is a member of the genus Tortoise, Tortoise and Painted Turtle. It is native to Brazil and Mexico and has high nutritional, medicinal and ornamental value. In recent years, the country of origin has been introduced into China for breeding.
First, the living habits of colorful turtles Colorful turtles are kept in turtle farm sheds, generally inhabiting the water, often stretching their heads to the surface. When the weather is clear and no one is in the daytime, it climbs onto the food table to “shoulder back” and when it hears a sound, it quickly dive back into the water. Colorful tortoises have a larger food intake and have a more complex diet. Under artificial feeding conditions, turtle feed is combined with fresh live bait. Fresh fish live in low-value sea bass, sometimes with some fresh vegetables and watermelon rinds. Feeding method with soft-shelled turtle. Colorful turtles require less water and temperature than soft turtles. They have strong disease resistance and few diseases. Unlike turtles, colorful turtles do not have the habit of drilling sand.
Second, the colorful turtle's sexual maturity and spawning incubation in the conditions of artificial breeding winter shed does not warm, colorful turtles 4 mature, and began to spawn. The average weight of the individual was 1100 g for females and 300 g for males. The male and female of the colorful turtle are very easy to identify. There are great differences between male and female individuals, females have large individuals and males have small individuals; males have long forelimb claws and females do not have this feature; females have slightly shorter tails and male tails are longer.
The spawning pond of the colorful turtle is a 50m2 cement pool with a depth of 1.6m and a water depth of 1m. A spawning sand table is set in the middle of the pool. Turtle stocking density of 3 ~ 5 / m2, male and female ratio of 5:1. From mid-May, there are individual turtles that lay eggs, and the water temperature is about 22°C during spawning. The average number of eggs laid per litter is about 10, and it reaches 16 eggs per litter for a long time, and only 5 when it is low. Turtle eggs are oblong, larger than turtle eggs, generally egg weight 6 ~ 10g, long diameter 3.6 ~ 4cm, short diameter 2 ~ 2.5cm. Spawning takes place in the early morning every day. Fertilized turtle eggs develop 1 to 2 days after they are produced, and a milky white area appears at the waist of the egg, which is the fertilized egg animal pole. The eggs in the nest are lying horizontally and stacked together. The milky areas are on the up side. Eggs are picked up every two days at about 6:30 pm. When picking the eggs, prepare a plastic basin with a layer of fine sand. The thickness of the sand is about 2cm. Ovicubation should be light, with animal white areas, and the white areas of animals should be placed upwards. If the extremely white areas of the animals are not visible or not obvious, they can be moved parallel to the egg collection basin. The incubation of turtle eggs uses a wooden incubator with a size of 45cm30cm12cm. Before laying eggs, lay a layer of pebbles and coarse sand on the bottom of the box, with a thickness of about 2cm. When the eggs are laid, the eggs are translated from the egg receiving pot to the incubator. Generally, 2 to 3 layers can be placed. After that, a 2 cm thick medium sand is placed on the eggs. At one end of the wooden box, a small plastic bowl is buried. The upper mouth of the bowl is slightly lower than the sand plane. A small amount of water is held in the bowl to allow the turtle to climb out and climb into the bowl. The incubator is placed on a shelf welded with angle iron. The humidity of the hatching sand is the same as that of the hatching turtle. The indoor air maintains a certain degree of moisture, and the temperature is preferably kept at 28 to 30° C. The fluctuation range is maintained at 26 to 32° C. Every day, we inject water once in the case of hatching sand. After 60-75 days, the hatchlings will be hatched. In the same hatchery, hatching time will be about 15 days longer than that of the turtle. The shell of the turtle will become soft before it is hatched. It is not the same as the turtle. When the turtle hatches out of the shell, it first breaks the egg shell with the snout and breaks the egg shell after 1 to 2 days. After the hatchlings hatched, sand layers were not immediately drilled, and most of the turtle seedlings were picked up in the sand during the development of turtle eggs. After hatching, how long did the turtle seedlings drill out of the sand? It remains to be seen. The newly hatched turtle seedlings generally have a body weight of 5 to 6g, with a green body and a distinct pattern. The hatchlings are hatched in the hatchery for a few days and then put into the hatchling pool for feeding. The fish is sterilized with sodium sulfadiazine before stocking.
Third, the results and discussion
1. The temperature required for colorful turtles to raise and hatch eggs is far from the harsh requirements of turtles. This has great advantages in production. If the temperature of the water required for the rearing of the soft-shelled turtle is 302°C, the temperature should be slightly higher than the water temperature. If the water temperature is below this range a few degrees or the temperature of the water is maintained in this range, the temperature is relatively low, which will greatly affect the food intake of the soft-shelled turtle. However, these two conditions have little effect on the food intake of the turtle. In addition, the colorful turtle has strong disease resistance and few diseases, which has great practical significance in actual production.
2. The turtle spawning pond used in this field is a 50m2 cement pool. The spawning station is located in the center of the pond and is a sand table supported by brick piers. From the actual effect point of view, the spawning pool is located in the shed, and a small cement pool is not as good as the spawning pool with large outdoor area. Males and females use a 5:1 ratio. From the aspect of egg fertilization, the number of males is less, and a 3:1 effect would be better.
3. From the actual incubating effect, the hatching of turtle eggs is different from the hatching of turtles. Therefore, the hatchery facilities and methods of hatching eggs completely copy the turtles. The results are not satisfactory. Whether there are any facilities and methods that are more suitable for the hatching of turtle eggs It needs to be further practiced, studied and improved.

There are three main types of Rice.

In GB/T 1354-2009 "Rice National Standards", there are only three types of rice: glutinous rice, glutinous rice and glutinous rice.
Pick rice three steps

Look

Packed rice first look at whether the packaging is marked with QS mark, product name, net content, production date and shelf life, quality grade, product standard number and other information.

Look at the color and size of the rice grains in bulk to see if there are broken rice or yellow grains.

smell

Premium rice has a natural valley scent and no smell.

taste

New rice has a higher protein content and is harder than Chenmi.
